Close to Selb, Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther startsto produce porcelain in an industrial process. The goal was to produce cheaper and in higher volumes. Later his son opens a big factory directly in Selb and a lot of manufacturers follows. They find in the region the raw material, enough wood to fire and many workers.

Porcelain getting cheaper, still it shows worth and people like it. A nice table was important for many families and often dowry.

Today you find in Selb a lot of exciting place remember to porcelain, a wonderful museum and still active porcelain production.
